The NM Loafer – A Modern Classic Reimagined

Martin Evensen

Inspiration & Design
The NM Loafer is a minimalist reimagining of the iconic penny loafer, blending time-honored style with New Movements’ modern ethos. Designed in Oslo, Norway, by our founder and forth-generation cobbler, Martin Evensen, this loafer embodies a fusion of tradition and contemporary sensibility. Its clean lines and timeless design reflect an elegant simplicity, making it a staple for any wardrobe while staying true to New Movements’ sustainable and circular philosophy.

Craftsmanship & Materials
Each pair is made in Portugal, at the New Movements factory, where expert shoemakers bring decades of craftsmanship to every stitch. We use only premium polido leather for the upper – known for its refined sheen and durability – complemented by a soft cow leather lining that offers breathable comfort. The NM Loafer sits on a natural and recycled rubber sole, delivering reliable grip and gentle cushioning underfoot. This careful selection of materials ensures long-lasting quality and aligns with our commitment to responsible sourcing and eco-conscious design.

Comfort & Versatility
Built for all-day comfort, the NM Loafer’s cushioned sole and supple materials adapt to your foot, providing support whether you’re spending long hours on your feet or strolling city streets. The shoe’s versatile and elegant silhouette transitions effortlessly from casual to formal settings – pair it with tailored attire for the office or with relaxed outfits on the weekend. With its blend of heritage craftsmanship, modern design, and mindful materials, the NM Loafer stands out as a refined companion for any occasion, destined to become a go-to classic in your collection.

Loafer Polished will be available in NM Community Centre in Steen & Strøm Oslo and newmovements.com this spring.
